Forget cramped, damp tents that leave you uncomfortable after long days on the water. Our spacious 10×10-foot waterproof guest tents offer stand-up height, comfortable cots and chairs, and room for personal gear. A dedicated gathering tent provides a welcoming place for meals, relaxing, and sharing the day’s fishing stories. These comfortable wilderness camps combine practical amenities with the experience of traveling through remote Alaska.
Since 1993, we've been perfecting wilderness float fishing trips on Alaska's most productive waters. This extensive experience translates into unmatched river knowledge, deep understanding of seasonal fish behavior, refined operations that optimize fishing success, and proven safety protocols developed through decades on remote Alaska rivers.
Our guides aren't just fishing experts – they're river specialists with years of experience on specific watersheds, skilled naturalists who understand Alaska's complex ecosystems, and patient teachers capable of guiding anglers of all skill levels. The majority of our guides have worked with Alaska Rainbow Adventures for years, while new members periodically join our crew, developing intimate knowledge of prime fishing spots and optimal techniques.
We operate on remote wilderness rivers including the world-famous Kanektok River, Goodnews River, Alagnak River, and distinctive destinations like Moraine Creek and the Arolik River – uncrowded waters far from road-accessible fishing spots.
Our Standard Style and Fisherman's Deluxe trips maintain a 2:1 guest-to-guide ratio. Standard Style trips typically accommodate six guests, with up to eight guests traveling together. Fisherman's Deluxe trips are limited to six guests and provide enhanced camp service. Exclusive to Fisherman's Deluxe, when conditions and logistics permit, an additional guide travels ahead of the fishing group to establish the next campsite, set up the gathering tent, and prepare guest accommodations before arrival. Typically six guests per trip, with up to eight guests traveling together. Both Standard Style and Fisherman's Deluxe maintain a 2:1 guest-to-guide ratio, providing personalized attention on the water and in camp. Fisherman's Deluxe is limited to six guests and includes advance camp preparation when conditions and logistics permit.

Plan Your Alaska Wilderness Float Trip
Both Standard Style and Fisherman’s Deluxe maintain a 2:1 guest-to-guide ratio. Standard Style trips typically accommodate six guests, with up to eight traveling together. Fisherman’s Deluxe is limited to six guests; when practicable, an additional guide travels ahead to establish the next campsite, set up the gathering tent, and prepare guest accommodations before the fishing group arrives.
A 50% deposit confirms your reservation; the remaining balance is due June 1 of the trip year. Payment is by check or bank wire.
Travel insurance is required for all guests. Coverage should protect prepaid nonrefundable trip expenses, interruptions, and travel costs, including operator cancellations due to unsafe river conditions or weather. Confirm your specific coverage with your insurer.
For Kanektok and Goodnews departures, plan to arrive in Bethel the day before the river trip. On your return day, book departures no earlier than 6 PM or plan an overnight stay.

Togiak River Silver Salmon
Flowing 48 miles from Togiak Lake through diverse terrain including soaring mountains, crystal-clear waters over cobbled gravel beds, and complete wilderness isolation. The river's remote location within the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge ensures pristine conditions.

Our flagship Alaska river systems represent the absolute pinnacle of Alaska wilderness fishing, each offering unique characteristics and exclusive experiences in Southwest Alaska's pristine waters.
Kanektok River — Multi-Species Wilderness Fishing
The Kanektok River offers fishing for wild rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, grayling, and seasonal Pacific salmon in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. Fishing opportunities change with river conditions and the progression of salmon runs.
Our principal Kanektok program includes Standard Style eight-day/seven-night float trips, selected ten-day/nine-night departures, and Fisherman’s Deluxe trips on designated dates. Commercial activities on refuge lands are conducted under applicable USFWS authorizations.
Early July can offer excellent trout fishing, including opportunities to fish streamers and mouse patterns. Salmon species overlap through the summer, while late-summer trips often focus on coho salmon and resident fish. Specific runs and fishing results vary by season.

Goodnews River — A Flagship Wilderness Float Trip
The Goodnews River is one of our two primary scheduled float-fishing destinations. Its remote setting, varied fishing water, and seasonal salmon runs provide opportunities for Pacific salmon, Dolly Varden, grayling, and wild rainbow trout.
Goodnews Standard Style trips are typically eight days/seven nights, with selected ten-day/nine-night departures available in 2027. Coho salmon may be present from late July through September, with run timing and fishing conditions varying from year to year.
The river offers numerous wade-fishing opportunities, but water levels, weather, and individual guest ability determine where and when wading is appropriate.

Arolik River — Limited Special Arrangements
A remote Southwest Alaska wilderness fishing experience offered only by special arrangement, subject to air transportation, operating logistics, and availability. Arolik trips are limited to four guests.

The Togiak River offers seasonal fishing opportunities for coho salmon and resident species in a remote Southwest Alaska setting. Coho timing, abundance, and fishing conditions vary each year; no specific peak is guaranteed.

Alagnak River — Katmai-Area Wilderness Fishing
The Alagnak River is a distinct Bristol Bay/Katmai-area wilderness fishing program, with opportunities for salmon and resident rainbow trout and other species. Its access and travel arrangements differ from the Bethel-based Kanektok and Goodnews trips.

Moraine Creek — Seasonal Katmai Rainbow Trout Fishing
Moraine Creek in Katmai National Preserve is known for seasonal rainbow trout fishing associated with sockeye salmon runs. Opportunities depend on fish movements, weather, access, and other operating conditions.
